When I was growing up our family dog Sheepba was a Labrador Beagle Cross. Basically she was a Labrador body on Beagle legs. She would escape sometimes which was funny because sometimes she would have a Labrador moment and stop halfway over the fence. I decided that I would have a German Shepard when I had my own place. However one year when I was flating, my flatmate had a Golden Retriever called Sheeling (Scottish word for Lean to). We got on very well and he became more my dog than hers. From then on I had a soft spot for Golden Retrievers. I have had a few Golden crosses too which I call honarary Goldens. I never planned to get involved with dog rescue. Just like all things great I fell into it and I have never looked back. Although alot of effort is required to get these dogs either ready for a home or find a home, what they give back is threefold.
